Short Track Rules:
Short-Track Competitions are held every year in various venues across the USA. Speedskating clubs can be located anywhere there is an indoor ice arena. There are many more clubs and competitions in short-track than in long-track, primarily due to the number of facilities available.
As in pack-style long-track racing, all the skaters line up on the starting line, the gun is fired, and the race begins. The first skater to cross the finish line wins.
Length of Races:
Tiny Tots: 55 meter, 111 meter, 222 meter
Pee Wee: 111 meter, 222 meter, 333 meter
Pony: 222 meter, 333 meter, 500 meter
Midget: 333 meter, 500 meter, 777 meter
Juvenile: 500 meter, 1,000 meter, 1,500 meter
Junior : 500 meter, 1,000 meter, 1,500 meter
Senior: 500 meter, 1,000 meter, 1,500 meter
Masters: 500 meter, 1,000 meter, 1,500 meter
